The following is the seventh issue of “Inspire” magazine reportedly produced by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s media organization Al-Malahem. There are six previous issues of Inspire magazine, all of which have been published by this site, and we have continually expressed our desire for readers to scrutinize the authenticity of the material provided in this publication. Earlier this year we achieved a minor victory in this regard when we finally succeeded, after more than a year of labor, in forcing mainstream media sources to admit that the first issue of Inspire magazine was released with 64 pages of ASCII cupcake recipes from the Ellen DeGeneres television show. As with all five previous issues of the magazine we must emphasize that this material is provided, as always, for educational and informational purposes.

Is it human nature to become so withdrawn from reality that one does not see the forest for the trees? In reading this issue, I try to caste myself in a fanciful role where, as an AQAP commander, 2 vain yet bright underlings bring me a document and disk that requires safe transport to its destination, where it may be safely uploaded. Knowing my men might die in this mission, I ask to see it, hoping for recruitment messages, appeals for resources, and visual explanations of our proud vision for a struggling Yemen. Instead, I find a bloviating diatribe on the warlike equalities of “media”, a fantastical re-description of simple propaganda, as if doing it on a computer actually made it more important, and insults to the country whose music constantly corrupts my nieces and nephews. I flip the pages to discover accusations on what America did wrong and note its instructional value to the reader. While naivete may explain this, the Iran article makes me retrieve that special gift in the bottom drawer of my desk and place it in front of me, as I furrow my brow at the reference to “those who lack the research capabilities of governments? (wtf)” As I continue past the pictures, I recognize the cia man but am distracted by the prideful descriptions of increased airport security that have eliminated not just the possibility of attack but of transit of our very brothers! As I see the smiling faces before me, I open another drawer and retrieve 2 cartridges that I calmly place into the empty chambers of this unused relic from a Saudi solder, taken so long ago as a souvenir of an almost forgotten encounter. As I turn to the final page to see an image of the West and Palestine, the cliche’s are almost too much to handle, on top of the threatening quote by that lazy good for nothing that no one can find and whom no one knows anything about, in all of Yemen! I place the document on the table and pick up my prized antique, and with a big sigh… shake my head… wondering how two Washington DC lobbyists were able to infiltrate my unit so deep in the mountains of Yemen.
But alas I wake up for all of this is fantasy, pure fantasy. I mean, not just part of it…I mean ALL OF IT.
