U.S. Secret Service Requests Removal of Documents from Public Intelligence

As of February 18, 2010, we have received two notices from the U.S. Secret Service regarding the Network Intrusion Responder Program course that was made available on January 21, 2010.  The second notice requests the removal of the NITRO course as well as another document, First Responder Computer Forensics, which has no protective markings and was made available on December 26, 2009.

The NITRO course has been mirrored by Cryptome.

The first notice was received on February 12, 2010:

Please take this e-mail as an official request to remove the above listed posting as well as the five .pdf files and the zip file containing the five separate files.  These items are marked as law enforcement sensitive and were not intended for non LEO consumption.  The original source of your information did not have the authority to post these documents on a publicly available server and removed access to them immediately after being requested to do so.  Please respond to this e-mail as to your intentions in this matter.  I appreciate your assistance.

It has come to our attention that you are using Secret Service materials on your website in connection with other promotional material. We ask that you please remove the reference materials “NITRO” and “Responder Forensics” from your website.

These are Secret Service materials and were not intended for public consumption. Your attention in this matter is appreciated.
