Correction – The 3,100 permits in NYC is the total for all street vendors selling food and drink. It includes hot dog carts, coffee and bagel carts, fruit stands, food carts and food trucks. There are only around 90 food trucks between midtown and downtown.
This is the most ridiculous ploy I have yet seen from the city to rid the streets of food carts in this city.
Yes, let’s put more hard-working citizens out of work.. this is ridiculous! Why not put more emphasis on background checks for jobs like these as opposed to taking them away entirely?
Make sure the hot dog vendor is using genuine pork. No Muslim usies pork products.
don’t forget about all of the vehicles driving around the city filled w/ gasoline, deisel, propane, etc. those could be the next terrorism threat! ridiculous!
This is machine gun security. Shart shooting from the lip then move to the hip and spray everyone and anyone with needless fear and nonsense. A simple risk assessment should have been performed ! Yes a simple risk assessment done beforehand would have identified this as a waste of time. The military does them, so does every other federal department I can think of. Somehow this clown posse gets an exemption from having to think.
The DHS itself is a fear-mongering organization as evidenced by this abysmally misguided pdf. It’s bad enough that all air travelers are treated like terrorists, now it’s the small businessman under attack by the DHS.
People, we need to defund these DHS morons as they are erasing liberty using fear-mongering.
