The following document contains the full roster, including ranks, of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office as of June 2011. The roster was obtained via a public records request. The names of certain deputies and detectives are redacted because they work on gang and narcotics task forces making their identities exempt from disclosure under California Government Code 6354 (c), (f) and (k). Deputies with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office have been involved in a number of shootings over the last few years following which they have routinely failed to provide the public with the deputy’s name and history, often without proper justification, until a substantial period of time has passed since the initial incident. Most recently, a deputy with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office killed a thirteen-year-old boy carrying a plastic BB gun. The deputy involved in the shooting has not yet been identified.
